HALSTEAD, ENGLAND: Guy Ritchie’s much-awaited crime series ‘The Gentlemen’ made its debut on March 7, 2024, on Netflix. The anticipation was high ever since he began developing the series inspired by his 2019 film of the same name.

The Netflix series, consisting of eight episodes, features Theo James in the central role of Edward “Eddie” Horniman, the new Duke of Halstead. Other notable cast members include Kaya Scodelario, Daniel Ings, and Joely Richardson.

Here’s what we know about ‘The Gentlemen’ Season 2

The prospect of adapting the original film, which featured Matthew McConaughey in a starring role, into a television series took many fans by surprise initially. However, now that it has happened, anticipation is high for exciting future seasons.

Guy Ritchie, the creator of ‘The Gentlemen’, has not yet made any announcement regarding the renewal of the Netflix series.

However, considering the intriguing conclusion of the action-comedy series, the possibility of another season seems likely, especially if the current season attracts a substantial viewership.

What happens in ‘The Gentlemen’ Season 1?

‘The Gentlemen’, streaming on Netflix, is a spin-off of Guy Ritchie’s 2019 film of the same name. The eight-episodic series is set in the same world but with entirely new characters.

It follows Eddie Horniman (Theo James), a young officer, who inherits the family estate and the title of title of Duke of Halstead after his father’s death. Soon after, he is shocked to find that millions of pounds worth of weed is growing on the 15,000 acres of land.

He now must navigate in a world of criminals and gangs, while trying to protect his empire and save himself from getting killed.

The official synopsis of ‘The Gentlemen’ Season 1 reads, “When aristocratic Eddie inherits the family estate, he discovers that it’s home to an enormous weed empire — and its proprietors aren’t going anywhere.”
