The premise of the franchise centers on Michael Eugene “Mike” Lowrey (Will Smith) and Marcus Miles Burnett (Martin Lawrence), two detectives who take on a variety of crooks in exhilarating and intriguing plotlines.

The fourth chapter of the franchise, directed by Adil and Bilall, is slated to be released on June 7, 2024.
