Vanessa Hudgens has publicly criticized paparazzi who invaded her family’s privacy by photographing them as they left the hospital following the birth of her first child. The actress and singer expressed her frustration in a statement:

“We’re disappointed that our family’s privacy was disrespected and exploited during this very special time due to the greed of a long lens camera feeding the media. Despite all of that, mom, dad, and baby are happy and healthy.”

Hudgens first revealed her pregnancy at this year’s Academy Awards. She was hosting The Oscars Red Carpet Show for the third consecutive year when she shared the news. Hudgens married Tucker, a Major League Baseball player, in December 2023.

Most recently, Hudgens starred in Bad Boys: Ride or Die alongside Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. In a May interview with E! News, she expressed her excitement about sharing her acting career with her future children.

“That’s why I chose things along the way in my career,” she said. “I wanted to make sure that when I did have kids, there would be something for them to watch at every age.”

Hudgens’ statement underscores the ongoing issue of paparazzi invading the personal lives of celebrities, particularly during sensitive and private moments. Despite the intrusion, Hudgens and her family are focusing on their joy and the health of their newborn.
