Georgia Student Madison Crowell Accepted into Over 230 Schools, Earns Nearly $15 Million in Scholarships

Madison Crowell, an 18-year-old high school senior at Liberty County High School, has achieved an extraordinary feat by gaining acceptance into 231 colleges and universities across the United States. Alongside this remarkable accomplishment, Crowell has been granted an impressive total of $14.7 million in scholarships, as reported by WJCL.

Hailing from a low-income area of Georgia, Crowell aimed to inspire her community by showcasing that students from any background can achieve success in higher education. “I wanted to apply to as many schools as I did … because I’m coming from a low-income area of Georgia and so I want to show the kids here in Liberty County that it’s possible to get accepted into not only just local schools like Georgia Southern [University] and Savannah [Technical College], but that you can get accepted into schools like the University of Alabama and the University of Colorado and [schools] that you think might be out of your reach but is definitely in reach,” Crowell shared with Good Morning America.

Despite her plethora of options, Crowell has decided to pursue her academic journey at High Point University in North Carolina, where she has been awarded a full scholarship. In a warm welcome, High Point University President Dr. Nido Qubein expressed his excitement for Crowell’s future at the institution. “We welcome you to our HPU family. Crowell attributes much of her success to the support and guidance of her parents, who instilled in her the importance of education from a young age. They facilitated her college preparations by taking her on road trips to visit various universities.

Looking ahead, Crowell intends to pursue a major in exercise science with aspirations of a career in physical therapy. Her journey serves as a testament to the power of determination, resilience, and the boundless opportunities that await those who dare to dream big.
