Not only does the enigmatic Victor Sams’ secret come to light, but viewers also receive closure on the murders of Keith Trubitsky (Michael Gladis), Alexandra Hochenberg (Tamberla Perry), Llewellyn Mathers (Jere Burns), and Katherine Collier (Jayne Atkinson).

If you recall the concluding scene of Episode 8, Katherine was found dead in a pool on the luxury cruise ship’s deck.

Imogene Scott (Violett Beane) and Rufus Cotesworth (Mandy Patinkin) rushed to the crime scene upon hearing Anna Collier’s (Lauren Patten) screams.

Despite initial suspicions pointing to Victor Sams as the culprit, it is revealed that Anna was the one who had killed Katherine.

A quick recap. In Episode 8, Anna unravels her family’s dark secrets during Imogene’s confrontation with Celia Chun (Lisa Lu). She discovers the illicit use of a banned pigment by Collier Mills, leading to the tragic deaths of numerous workers.

Through her father, Lawrence Collier’s (David Marshall Grant) confession, Anna also uncovered that her family orchestrated Kira Scott’s mother who planned to expose them.

Realizing that confronting her father would be futile due to his dementia, Anna instead confronted her mother, Katherine Collier, as shown in a flashback in Episode 10.

Tension mounted as Anna was carrying anger upon learning that Lawrence wasn’t her biological father and was a result of her mother’s affair with their lawyer, Lwelleyn Mathers.

During the confrontation, Katherine displayed no remorse for planning Kira’s murder or the workers’ deaths due to illicit activities.

In a fit of anger, Anna picked up a metal stick and hit her mother twice, leading to Katherine’s fatal bleeding into the pool.

In the final moments of ‘Death and Other Details’ Season 1, it is revealed that Hilde Eriksen (Linda Emond) aka Kira Scott witnessed Katherine’s murder. She approached Anna and offered protection in exchange for compliance with her instructions.

When Anna asked why she would help her, it was assumed that Kira would come clean about her identity. She then asked Anna to pretend to discover Katherine’s dead body in the pool and to scream for assistance.

In the finale, as Kira gets arrested by the FBI, her ally Andreas Windeler (Christian Svensson) visits Anna and asks for her assistance. Anna looks back at the man and asks, “What does she need me to do?”

It seems that Kira would be using her power against Anna to set herself free.

‘Death and Other Details’ is available to stream on Hulu.
