Laela approaches life with the mentality of going all out. She is a native of Monroe, Louisiana, who proudly graduated from Asheville Christian Academy in North Carolina in the year 2022.
Not only does the ‘American Idol’ contestant reside in Nashville, but she is also actively engaged in her pursuit of higher education as a college student within the city.

The answer to the above question is a big yes. Laela Dasher tied the knot with her high school sweetheart, Dawson Skinner, on December 31, 2023.
Recently, in celebration of Valentine’s Day, Laela took to her Instagram page to share a collection of photographs captured on her wedding day.

“My Valentine Also we got our wedding pics back yesterday so I’m a mess,” she wrote.
Laela added, “Life with you is better than anything I could have ever dreamt up. It’s fun and unpredictable and every day is a new adventure. You love me so well. Happy love day.”
‘American Idol’ Season 22 star Laela Dasher is a part of Live Original Worship
In terms of her musical endeavors, Leila Dasher finds herself deeply embedded within the realm of LO (Live Original) Worship, a renowned Christian music and worship collective that was ingeniously established by none other than her very own cousin, the exceptionally talented Sadie Robertson Huff.
LO Worship has experienced considerable musical success with its 2022 EP ‘Steady Light’, which has garnered over 1 million streams on Spotify across its five songs.
After the successful release of ‘Steady Light’, LO Worship has continued to build on its momentum by releasing not just one, but two live albums.
Additionally, they have also treated their fans to a brand new album titled ‘Holy in My Heart’, featuring a collection of seven new songs that were released in September. This release showcases the band’s growth and dedication to creating meaningful and uplifting music for their audience.
The lead single from the album as well as a track released in 2023 titled ‘Presence’ have both garnered over 400,000 streams on Spotify.
LO worship is a group of close friends who come together to create music that captures the essence of revival in today’s generation.
Sadie believes that while a 40-minute sermon may not stick with people, a 4-minute song has the power to resonate and be remembered long after it is heard. Their music on Spotify reflects their passion for spreading a message of hope and faith through their lyrics and melodies.
Laela and her brother Max performed music together growing up and were able to release music they created during a summer residency with The Worship Initiative. This music is featured on an album called ‘Psalms from the Wells’, which was released in November.
‘American Idol’ contestant Laela Dasher struggles with crippling perfectionism
In the September-October issue of Grateful Girl Magazine, Laela admitted to dealing with intense perfectionism that affects her creativity in various ways.
“I struggle with crippling perfectionism that bleeds into every aspect of my creativity,” Laela said.
Later on in the issue, Laela stated, “Because of this perfectionism, I often struggle with what I call the “all or nothing mindset.” For example, I couldn’t conjure the ‘perfect’ article to share with you all, I avoided it all together for several months.”
She continued, “Another example is songwriting. Because I have not written the most incredible song on the planet, I have chosen not to share it.”
