COLLEGEVILLE, PENNSYLVANIA: ‘The Bachelor’ Season 28 star Joey Graziadei has given a shocking update about his health. Ever since ABC’s dating show was released, fans have been concerned about Joey’s yellow eyes. The reality star reveals that he has been struggling with Gilbert Syndrome for a long time.
Addressing his condition, Joey explained fans’ concerns in his minute-long TikTok video. He said, “I want to jump on here real quick and talk about something that I am seeing a lot of comments about, which is Joey’s yellow eyes.” Joey recounted when he was in high school and fell ill for about a week and a half.

Joey’s mother took him to the doctor, and when Joey’s blood was tested, it was revealed that his bilirubin count was very high. He explained, “That means there could be something wrong with my liver.”
Following an ultrasound of his liver, he received a diagnosis of Gilbert syndrome, a lifelong condition that, while not posing an immediate threat to health, does elevate the risk of liver disease.
Joey says Gilbert Syndrome is “something that does affect the whites of my eyes; it makes them have those jaundice levels, which is why they look a little bit more yellow.”
Reassuring his fans, he conveyed that despite the diagnosis, he remained healthy, emphasizing the importance of staying hydrated. His condition worsens with stress, and that generally happens on national TV.

Despite Joey’s parents splitting, the separation was amicable. Joey mentioned in ‘The Bachelorette,’ “The fact that it didn’t work out doesn’t take away from romance for me.” Additionally, Joey has an older sister named Carly, who is married to Zach Monzo, and a younger sister named Eleanor.
